You Will Love Penticton Weather!

Penticton has the most attractive weather in all of Canada, - according to Statistics Canada – and by those of us who live here. Low levels of precipitation, hot dry summers, low humidity levels, short winters and an early spring season make Penticton a great place to live.


In the Okanagan Valley, Penticton has the most hours of sunshine in the summer and least amount of snow in the winter. Penticton’s attractive weather has made it an ideal place for retirement.

We call it a 4 season playground. Penticton is surrounded by 2 lakes; Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. In the background are gentle rolling mountains.

In addition to boating and sailing activites, there are a large number of golf courses in the area. And tee times are available!

Cyclists are a frequent site, enjoying our bike trails.

Penticton’s economy is dependant on the weather as well. It is based on agriculture, with 85 wineries in the surrounding area, Our second industry is tourism.

Penticton is renowned as one of the most pleasant areas in all of Canada to live. The Valley is actually the northern extension of the Colorado River basin and forms a temporate desert area in Canada. Not only will you find a long, hot summer, there is sagebrush, tumbleweed, antelope brush growing throughout the countryside.
