Every August, the city of Penticton and surrounding communities transforms into a race course, supported by thousands and thousands of volunteers who cheer on the participants.
Racers from around the world, consistently tell us Ironman Canada is unlike any other, as no one can match us for enthusiasm, support and commitment to the racers.
As locals, we understand why we do this. We feel privileged to watch, first hand, ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
The Ironman course consists of a 3.8 km swim, followed by a 180 km bike ride (going through a mountain pass) and then finishing the day with a marathon run of 42.2 km.
This year the date is Sunday, August 24th. Come and join us watch incredible feats of human endurance, stamina and sheer raw determination.
Warning: many people who come to watch, sign up for next year's race!
